TERMS & CONDITIONS

- All dogs are accepted for grooming on the assumption that they        are FIT and WELL and free from parasites.*

- All payment is due on collection of your dog.

- We reserve the right to add a "sitting fee" for any uncollected dogs.

- Please give AT LEAST 24 hours notice if your need to change your   appointment to avoid incurring a re-booking fee.  We regret we can   no longer accept cancellations by voicemail or text.

- Current advice from the RCVS prevents us from offering anal       gland expression. Checking of anal glands is covered by the   "GROOMERS' HEALTH   CHECK". 

- We reserve the right to refuse to groom a dog that presents ......

        - A RISK OF INJURY TO ITSELF AND/OR STAFF and                        CUSTOMERS ......

       - or is to INFIRM DUE TO AGE OR ILL HEALTH that grooming             could be harmful to its' welfare.

- Should we find parasites (fleas and/or ticks) during the course of    a groom we will treat for these by giving your dog a "flea bath" but    there will be an ADDITIONAL fee to cover the EXTRA time, labour      and products required.

- We operate a "HUMANITY BEFORE VANITY" * policy which means       that dogs will only ever be groomed to their tolerance of the     process.  Should we need to terminate a groom because your dog   has reached his or her tolerance level, the full quoted groom fee   will still be due on collection.

- Grooming (especially MATT RELEASE procedures) can expose         underlying skin and/or health problems for which we cannot be held   liable.  If your dog presents with a very overgrown and/or matted     coat, you will be required to sign an additional "MATT RELEASE   CONSENT" before grooming can commence.

HUMANITY BEFORE VANITY

As an ethical and compassionate grooming studio Headington Hounds complies with the terms of the ANIMAL WELFARE ACT which states, amongst other things, that no-one should cause pain or injury to an animal.  In practical terms this means that we will always act in your dog's best welfare interests even if that means that you do not get the grooming outcome you would like.
